When the client's only wish is to “love our home for the next 30 years” we instantly connect with this type of heart centered project. Being that this was an infill design we knew we wanted to connect to this historic area of the city and design within the context of spaces. Rooms inside a home, home inside a neighborhood, neighborhood inside a city. Thinking about the home in this way versus just individual parts, allowed us to nestle this home into the street facade, give the greatest amount of privacy and blend in seamlessly with the neighborhood. It was a simple decision to situate the majority of the living spaces at the rear of the home and it achieved the cozy, secluded connection to the rear yard that the client will enjoy for years to come.
